The Ninety-Nines, Inc. is an International Organization of Women Pilots. It is a 501c3 non-profit organization that was started in 1929 with Amelia Earhart serving as its first president. There are 5000 members in 44 countries around the world. The membership comprises beginning pilots to astronauts. Our mission is to promote the advancement of aviation through education, scholarships, and mutual support while honoring our unique history and sharing our passion for flight. The Tucson Chapter is sixty members strong with glider pilots, sport pilots, General Aviation pilots and commercial pilots. Our goals are to offer aviation education programs in the community and to raise monies for local scholarships for women who want to learn fly or want to advance their level of expertise by acquiring advanced ratings.
