March 17th 2012 Tucson 99s Pound Rides- Airplane Rides for Scholarships


Headline:  20 Cents-A-Pound Airplane Rides

                                      (54 annual event)


Date:         Saturday, March 17, 2012 – (rain date 18th)


Location:  Ryan Airfield, Ticket sales start at 7:00 AM, limited sales.


A Scholarship Fundraiser, all proceeds go to aviation scholarships for women.

                       Contributions are Tax deductible


Directions to Ryan Airfield:  Drive to 9698 E. Ajo Hwy. west of Tucson.

                                                  Turn on to S. Aviator Lane.  Follow the signs to parking.


What Happens: We weigh you, calculate the charge and take you for a twenty minute ride in a general aviation airplane.

Family Friendly Event:  Kids of all ages have a good time.  Activities, refreshments, and Fly Market items for sale will be available.  No pets, please.

The Ninety-Nines, Inc. is an International Organization of Women Pilots.  It is a 501c3 non-profit organization that was started in 1929 with Amelia Earhart serving as its first president.  There are 5000 members in 44 countries around the world.  The membership comprises beginning pilots to astronauts.  Our mission is to promote the advancement of aviation through education, scholarships, and mutual support while honoring our unique history and sharing our passion for flight.  The Tucson Chapter is sixty members strong with glider pilots, sport pilots, General Aviation pilots and commercial pilots.   Our goals are to offer aviation education programs in the community and to raise monies for local scholarships for women who want to learn fly or want to advance their level of expertise by acquiring advanced ratings.  We thank all those who have supported the Tucson Ninety-Nines Chapter since 1951 and welcome continued support throughout the Tucson area and surrounding communities.
